VIPARSPECTRA XS2000 PPFD & PAR Data
VIPARSPECTRA · XS2000 · Grow
The numbers below are compiled from public sources: VIPARSPECTRA’s own product imagery and PPFD map, and an independent PAR test. They are not our own measurements. Where a figure is only a manufacturer claim, or only an image we read as text, it is labelled that way. Each row says where the value came from.
What VIPARSPECTRA publishes
VIPARSPECTRA lists the XS2000 as a 240 W (±3%) fixture built on Samsung LM301B diodes and publishes an official PPFD map as part of its product imagery. That map is only an image — the grid values are not offered as text on the listing — but the image itself is labelled with the hanging heights (12 in, 14 in and 16 in) and prints a µmol/m²/s number at every grid position, tested in a 4×2 ft grow tent. We transcribe those printed numbers below. They are VIPARSPECTRA’s own stated figures, read off its own chart image; they are not our measurement.
VIPARSPECTRA has since retired the XS2000 on its own site (the product URL now redirects to the newer XS2500), so the official PPFD map is preserved on reseller listings that carry VIPARSPECTRA’s manufacturer imagery. The map file we transcribed is VIPARSPECTRA’s own brand image as served on the LED Grow Lights Depot XS2000 page.
| Metric | Manufacturer stated | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Rated power draw | 240 W (±3%) | ledgrowlightsdepot.com |
| Power draw (on PPFD map) | 250 W | PPFD map image |
| PPF | not published | — |
| PPE (efficacy) | not published | — |
| Coverage (on PPFD map) | 4×2 ft | PPFD map image |
| LED count | 504 (316× 3000K + 160× 5000K + 26× 660 nm + 2× 730 nm IR) | growace.com |
VIPARSPECTRA does not publish a PPF (µmol/s) or efficacy (µmol/J) figure for the XS2000. The rated draw is 240 W (±3%) on the spec, while the PPFD map prints “250 W POWER DRAW” — the driver is a 250 W MeanWell unit, so the map likely labels the driver rating rather than the rated fixture draw. Coverage claims differ across listings (some list 3×3 ft veg / 2×4 ft flower); the map’s own label is 4×2 ft, which is the footprint it was tested over.
Independent PAR test
The most rigorous public third-party datapoint we could find is the Coco for Cannabis PAR test (tested 12 July 2021). It measures the fixture on a bench and reports an average PPFD over the 4×2 ft footprint rather than a full grid.
| Metric | Manufacturer stated | Third-party measured | Source (measured) |

PPFD map (per grid position) — manufacturer chart
Manufacturer stated, transcribed from VIPARSPECTRA’s official XS2000 PPFD map image (map file, as served on the LED Grow Lights Depot XS2000 page), tested in a 4×2 ft grow tent. These are VIPARSPECTRA’s figures read off its own chart, not our measurement. The chart is an 8×4 grid (8 cells across the 4 ft side, 4 cells across the 2 ft side) with a single printed centre-point reading overlaid on the middle of each grid.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Back | 443 | 585 | 760 | 854 | 847 | 766 | 585 | 442 |
| Mid-back | 522 | 673 | 888 | 1022 | 1020 | 883 | 678 | 505 |

| Front | 466 | 587 | 759 | 864 | 866 | 755 | 590 | 440 |
All values in µmol/m²/s. Every cell in the map read cleanly, so none is marked unverified; the centre-point circle (1355 / 1190 / 1069) is a separate spot reading printed over the middle of each grid and does not obscure the eight inner cells around it. The grid peaks in the four central columns (~1270 at 12 in) and falls to ~375–390 at the short-side corners. Raising the light from 12 to 16 in pulls the centre from 1355 down to 1069 and lifts the corners from ~375 to ~442, the usual trade of peak intensity for a flatter spread.

Notes
The measured wall draw (232 W) sits inside the rated 240 W (±3%) band, and well under the 250 W the PPFD map prints, which supports reading the map’s “250 W” as the driver rating rather than actual fixture draw. VIPARSPECTRA publishes no PPF or efficacy figure, so the only photon numbers here are the third-party ones: 454.9 µmol/s usable PPF, 1.96 µmol/J, and 631.8 µmol/m²/s averaged over the 4×2 ft footprint. The map’s own centre spots (over 1300 at 12 in) and the ~630 average are consistent: the map shows best-case centre positions, the average folds in the far weaker short-side columns, where the grid drops to ~375–390 at 12 in — roughly a third of the core, and the honest limit of the 4×2 ft claim.
